Peoples Democratic Party: No Speaker Candidate Adopted Yet

A Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Rep. Fredrick Agbedi, has announced that the ‘Greater Majority’ group has not yet adopted any candidate for the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 10th Assembly. The ‘Greater Majority’ is a coalition of the seven opposition political parties forming the incoming legislature. At a greater majority caucus in Abuja, Agbedi stated adoption would only be when an agreement is reached, which will be a collective decision, and all stakeholders will be consulted. The caucus also plans to have state and zonal coordinators to collate and communicate their decisions to members. The opposition parties have been informed about a retreat in Akwa-Ibom state, which they have all agreed to attend.
