Gwandu resumes office as NASENI’s executive vice chairman

The new and substantive Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, Dr Bashir Gwandu, has officially resumed work.

President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Gwandu to succeed Mrs Nonyem Onyechi, who was in an acting capacity.

According to a statement on Tuesday by the Deputy Director of Information and Protocol at NASENI, Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, Gwandu’s appointment was conveyed in a letter dated May 19, 2023, from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation with Reference No. SGF.51/S.4/T/93.

Gwandu’s appointment as the EVC of NASENI took effect on May 12, 2023.

The development comes against the backdrop of the expiration of the 10-year tenure of two terms of five years each by the former EVC of the Agency, Prof Mohammed Sani Haruna, in April 2023.

Gwandu holds a BSc and several Master’s degrees, as well as a PhD in Electrical Engineering, from prestigious universities around the world.
