Lagos State Governor Unveils 13 Key Development Projects Across Eight LGAs

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State launched 13 strategic projects across eight Local Government Areas of the state. The initiative was a part of the programme organized to celebrate the success of Gov. Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, in their first tenure in office, aimed at uplifting the ‘Greater Lagos Rising’ objective. The projects unveiled included a block of School of Basic Medical Science, 120 Bed MCC (SDG Building), Special Services Centre House Officers’ Quarters in Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ambulance Bay, and Ajegunle’s rehabilitated Mba-Cardoso Street.

Other projects inaugurated were constructed jetties with waiting shelters and shoreline protection at Marina and Isaju-Ajido in Badagry, along with newly constructed Ikeja Town Square. Government Girls Senior College in Agege, Alimosho Junior Grammar School, and Ijaiye Housing Estate Junior Secondary School in Alimosho were also unveiled. The newly-constructed Primary Healthcare Centre, Ijedodo, in Iba LCDA, Ojo and Ijaiye Ojokoro Senior High School, Ifako Ijaiye, were inaugurated as well.

Sanwo-Olu unveiled these vital projects to fulfill the administration’s promise to bring progress and prosperity to the people of Lagos. The Governor, speaking through his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, appreciated the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals for donating a multipurpose medical building, equipped with modern medical care facilities. The building comprises four medical schools in Anaesthesia technology, Echocardiography, Orthopaedic cast technology, and postgraduate Nursing, which will significantly raise the status of LASUTH as a leading/award-winning medical school and centre of excellence in healthcare delivery.

Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure, Mrs. Aramide Adeyoye, stated that the Sanwo-Olu administration fulfilled its promise to renew and upgrade infrastructure to enhance the well-being of Lagosians and empower them across economic activities.

In conclusion, the projects inaugurated in the eight LGAs of Lagos State by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu represent a significant milestone in the administration’s quest to transform Lagos into a developed and modern centre of commerce.
