Remaining Kidnapped Students of FGC Birnin Yauri Released by Bandits

In a recent report, the remaining two abducted female students of the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State, have been released by bandits.

The unfortunate incident happened on June 17, 2021, when 11 students were abducted from the school. In April, 2023, four of the students were released and three others were later freed on May 7.

It was gathered that Faida Sani Kaoje and Safiya Idris, the two students who had remained in captivity, were released after intense negotiations between the kidnappers and the victims’ parents. According to reports, the bandits had demanded N100 million for the girls’ freedom.

The delay in releasing the students was due to the insistence of the bandit kingpin, Dogo Gide, who had some demands that needed to be met by the Kebbi State Government before the release could happen.
