Buhari’s Aide Calls for Focus on Inauguration After Supreme Court Ruling

President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aide, Bahir Ahmed, has responded to the recent Supreme Court decision on a suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The PDP had sought to disqualify Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kasim Shettima as the presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Supreme Court dismissed the suit, citing “Locus Standi.”

In a statement released on Friday via his official Twitter handle, Ahmed urged Nigerians to shift their focus to the forthcoming inauguration on May 29th and the subsequent governance.

With the Supreme Court having given its verdict, Ahmed believes that it is time to put political setbacks behind and concentrate on the task at hand. He stated, “Time to focus fully on May 29th and governance afterwards.”
