Abia State Police and NSCDC Assure of Adequate Security Ahead of Inauguration

Ahead of the May 29th inauguration ceremony in Abia State, the police and other security agencies have been massively deployed to fortify venues where the event would be taking place. The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala, and the Abia State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Paul Ozoemene Igwebuike, have both assured residents of a hitch-free inauguration ceremony in the state.

CP Bala has urged all Abians and visitors to adhere to the rules and regulations regarding the event. He also reminded everyone to report any suspicious activity or persons to the police or any other relevant security agencies. He warned non-state actors, groups, or individuals willing to cause chaos during the event to steer clear of the venues, as the law enforcement agencies will not hesitate to subdue any confrontational acts of insecurity.

Similarly, the Abia State Commandant of the NSCDC, Paul Igwebuike, reassured everyone of the readiness of his team to provide adequate security measures and ensure a hitch-free inauguration. He stated that there is no alternative to peace in any society willing to progress in socio-economic and political development.

Igwebuike further assured the public that his team had taken tactical measures to tackle any pressure on the state’s security, which may arise from the expected influx of guests within and outside the state. He also called on the general public to be law-abiding and avoid any act that could lead to a breach of public peace and safety. Anyone caught in the act shall face the law.

The Abia NSCDC boss concluded by appealing to the people to always provide timely and credible information to security agencies in the state to serve them better. The security agencies, on their part, have assured the people of their commitment to ensuring a safe and secure state before, during, and after the inauguration.
