President Buhari Extends Birthday Wishes to Governor Masari

President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with the Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, as he celebrates his 73rd birthday on May 29th. This was contained in a congratulatory message issued by Mr Femi Adesina, the President’s Spokesman, on Sunday in Abuja.

The President commended Governor Masari’s unwavering support which has spanned over eight years, throughout his two-term administration in Katsina State. The President also thanked the Governor for his inclusiveness, both within and outside Nigeria, allowing for a robust and functional governance platform.

President Buhari acknowledged the Governor’s exceptional contributions towards the security and development of Katsina State, despite presiding over some of its more trying times fraught with security challenges. The President particularly praised Governor Masari for his remarkable achievements in beautifying and developing Katsina City through massive road construction and upgrades in many economic sectors, all while prioritizing pressing social needs such as health, education and security, especially in the state’s three senatorial zones.

He went on to commend his vast experience in public service, grassroots inclusion in governance, and documented legacy at the National Assembly where he served as Speaker from 2003 to 2007.

President Buhari expressed optimism that Governor Masari’s rich knowledge, wisdom, and maturity will come in handy for the incoming administration and new set of political leaders, providing visionary leadership at both state and national levels, while understanding the complexities of the legislature and executive arm of government. He also prayed for good health and strengthened resolve for the Governor and wished him more fruitful years of service to the country.

The outgoing Governor, who is a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and a former Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, will be handing over to the Governor-elect, Dikko Radda, on Monday.
