Taiwo Awoniyi Makes History for Nottingham Forest, Scoring 11th League Goal

In a recent match at Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace, Taiwo Awoniyi, a Nigeria international, scored Nottingham Forest’s only goal, leading to a 1-1 draw between both teams.

For Awoniyi, the goal was his 11th of the season for the Tricky Trees, and most notably, it allowed him to enter Nottingham Forest’s history books. He is the first player for the club to score more than ten Premier League goals in a single season since 1994/95.

The 25-year-old forward capitalized on Morgan Gibb-White’s assist in the 31st minute to score for Nottingham Forest; however, Crystal Palace’s William Hughes leveled the score with a goal in the 66th minute.

Notably, Awoniyi’s international teammate, Emmanuel Dennis, could not play due to an injury.
