Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia Assumes Office as Benue State Governor

Benue State has a new leader in the person of Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia who assumed office as the Governor on Tuesday, May 30.

The former governor, Samuel Ortom, handed over the reins of leadership to the Catholic Priest whose administration promises to be one of great significance for the people of Benue State.

The swearing-in ceremony held at the IBB Square in Makurdi and attracted high-profile guests such as dignitaries, religious leaders and citizens from all over the state who all converged to witness the event.

Rev Fr. Alia, who will be serving with his deputy, Sam Odeh, was resolute in his promise to govern the state with sincerity, transparency and accountability.
