Babagana Zulum, the Governor of Borno State, and his Deputy, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, have been sworn in for their second term in office. The oath of office was administered by the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Kashim Zanna.
Expressing his gratitude to the people of the state for voting him into office for another term, Governor Zulum spoke of the more than 700 projects executed by his administration during his first term. He reiterated his commitment to do more in their second term and announced plans to tour the 27 local government areas of the state to interact with stakeholders on priority projects for implementation in their respective areas.
The governor also expressed his joy at the return of peace in Borno State, which has led to the resettlement of over one million displaced persons across the state. He reaffirmed his commitment to the people, promising never to lose focus in the discharge of his obligations to the state.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including traditional rulers, religious leaders, and members of the state’s executive council.
As the governor begins his second term in office, many citizens of Borno State will be expecting him to address the lingering issues of insecurity and poverty in the state, which have been major concerns in recent times.
