“Nigeria Will Not Break Up,” says Tinubu to Agitators of Biafra and Yoruba Nation

President Bola Tinubu has addressed the various calls for Nigeria to break up into separate nations. In his inaugural speech on Monday at the Eagles Square in Abuja, he stated that Nigeria is resilient and diverse enough to remain unified and endure.

Tinubu stated that despite the doubts of skeptics who have for years predicted Nigeria’s collapse and demise, Nigeria has retained its integrity and continues to exist, even in trying times.

He proclaimed, “For many years, Nigeria’s critics have carried it that Nigeria will break up even perish, yet we are here. We have stumbled at times but resilience and diversity have kept us going and we will keep going.”

Tinubu asserted that Nigeria must remain as a unified nation as long as the world endures. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Yoruba Nation movement are two groups that have been advocating for Nigeria’s partition over the years. Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader, is being held by the Department of State Services (DSS), while Sunday Igboho is in custody in Benin Republic.
