The news of the death of media mogul, Raymond Dokpesi, has left the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, saddened.
Lawan expressed his profound grief over the passing of the founder of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM Radio, stating that it is a significant loss to the Nigerian media industry due to Dokpesi’s notable contributions to politics and private media evolution in Nigeria and Africa.
The senate president acknowledged that Dokpesi’s credit included the establishment of Nigeria’s first private television network, Africa’s first private satellite television, and Nigeria’s first privately-owned radio station.
“I commiserate with the immediate family of Dr Raymond Dokpesi, staff of AIT/Raypower FM radio, and the media industry at large on this great loss.
“They should all be consoled that Dr. Dokpesi made an indelible mark in business, politics, and the media industry and lived a fulfilled life,” Lawan said.
He concluded by praying for God’s mercy and comfort to the loved ones left behind by the media icon.
