Femi Gbajabiamila Mourns the Loss of Raymond Dopkesi

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has expressed his deep sadness at the passing of Raymond Aleogho Anthony Dopkesi, the founder and chairman of AIT/Raypower FM. In a statement released by Lanre Lasisi, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Gbajabiamila described the deceased as a patriotic Nigerian who would be sorely missed.

Gbajabiamila went on to express his shock at the news of the media entrepreneur’s passing, noting that he had left a vacuum in the Nigerian media industry as the pioneer of a private radio station in the country. The Speaker also praised Dopkesi’s combination of media entrepreneurship with politics, which provided him with the opportunity to appreciate leadership in the country.

Chief Dopkesi’s contributions to the media industry in Nigeria are widely acknowledged, and his pioneering efforts have paved the way for many in the industry today. His legacy will undoubtedly be felt for years to come.

Gbajabiamila extended his heartfelt condolences to the AIT/Raypower family, the people and government of Edo State, and the people of Weppa-Wanno Kingdom, where Chief Dopkesi held the traditional title of Ezomo. He also prayed for the repose of the soul of the late media mogul, asking God to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

It is a sad loss for the media industry in Nigeria, and Chief Dopkesi will be sorely missed.
