Security Forces and Vigilantes Save Three Kidnap Victims, Including a Pregnant Woman, in Kogi

Security forces and a local vigilance group in Kogi state have rescued three more victims who were kidnapped last Thursday on the Lokoja-Abuja highway. One of the victims was a pregnant woman. Mr Dauda Aliyu, the Chairman of Kogi/Koto Local Government Area, confirmed the rescue and praised the collaboration between security forces and the local vigilantes.

Last Friday, security operatives rescued ten victims, as reported by retired Commodore Jerry Omodara, the Security Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello. This operation, along with the latest rescue mission, reflects the ongoing efforts to combat crime in Kogi and the North Central region.

Aliyu revealed that the administration of Governor Bello is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the state’s citizens, leaving no victim in the hands of criminal elements. Security agents are determined to rid every nook and cranny of criminal activity, allowing peace, growth, and development.

Aliyu expressed confidence in Bello’s security architecture and his resolve to maintain a robust approach until his tenure ends in January 2024. Despite the rescue operation’s success, it was not without complications as one of the victims reportedly had a miscarriage during the rescue.
