Former Lagos Governor, and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has held a meeting with Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited. The meeting, which is reportedly connected to the ongoing fuel subsidy removal crisis, took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.
Despite the lack of official confirmation on the purpose of the meeting, many believe that the discussions between Tinubu, Emefiele, and Kyari focused on the current fuel crisis that has led to long fuel queues and price hikes across the country, resulting in widespread panic among Nigerians.
Tinubu, who arrived at the forecourt of his office at the Presidential Villa at around 2:30 pm on Tuesday, was received by Vice President Kashim Shettima and other senior government officials.
Also present were Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Tijjani Umar, former Lagos Commissioner for Finance, Wale Edun, and other important personalities.
The discussions of the meeting have not been made public as at the time of writing this report. Further details will be made known later.
