Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas Disbands Local Government Caretaker Committees

The newly elected governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, wasted no time in exercising his powers as he dissolved the Caretaker Committee overseeing the sixteen Local Government Councils in the state.

The governor approved the dissolution immediately after the inauguration ceremony held in Jalingo, the state capital. This decision came as a shock to the former Caretaker Committee (CTC) chairmen who took to expressing their sadness to journalists afterwards.

The CTC chairmen were appointed by the immediate past governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku.

According to an official press statement, the dissolved committee chairmen have been directed to return all government property in their possession to the Head of Local Government Administration of their respective Councils.
