The Nigerian Federal Government has announced a change in the date for the collection of the National Honour Award. The new date for collecting the award certificates and medals has not yet been disclosed.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mrs Ibiene Roberts, made this known in a circular issued by Mrs Julie Jacobs, the Director of Information in the ministry. The earlier date for the collection of the award instruments was scheduled for Thursday, June 1, but it has been postponed due to circumstances beyond the control of the Ministry.

Mrs Roberts further added that the concerned recipients would be informed about the new date for the collection of their award certificates and medals. In the meantime, the Ministry has directed all award recipients to send copies of their citations or resumes to the Secretary, National Honour Awards Committee, Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs (FMSDIGA) on or before the 9th of June.

The soft copies are to be forwarded to the following email addresses: , , with the biodata including title, surname, other names, gender, phone number, email, state of origin, and address.

Recipients are also required to provide a citation or biography, with a limit of 500 words, about their early life, educational qualifications, career / achievements, personal life and hobbies, along with a passport photograph.

The Permanent Secretary apologised on behalf of the Ministry for any inconvenience that the change of date may have caused.
