CUPP condemns fuel hoarding, hikes in prices

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has expressed its dismay over the current fuel scarcity in the country, and the hike in fuel prices by some marketers. The group has condemned the actions of these marketers, describing them as unconscionable and callous.

In a statement released by the spokesman of the CUPP, the coalition called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to take urgent steps towards ensuring that fuel is made available to all parts of the country. The group also urged the federal government to investigate the reasons why some marketers are hoarding fuel and subsequently selling at exorbitant prices.

The statement noted that the actions of these marketers are negatively impacting the economy and causing untold hardship to Nigerians, particularly as the festive season approaches. The coalition has called on the NNPC to take control of the situation and ensure that all Nigerians have access to fuel at affordable prices.

Furthermore, the CUPP has called on the federal government to intensify efforts towards developing alternative sources of energy, such as solar, wind, and hydro. The group believes that this will not only reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuels, but also create new and sustainable job opportunities for Nigerians.

In conclusion, the CUPP has warned marketers engaging in fuel hoarding and price hikes that such actions will not be tolerated, and that the group will do everything within its power to ensure that Nigerians are not exploited or made to suffer needlessly. The coalition has urged all Nigerians to remain patient and law-abiding, while calling on the federal government and the NNPC to act swiftly in resolving the issue of fuel scarcity and price hikes.
