Oyo State journalists promised freedom by Gov Makinde’s press secretary

Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the recently appointed Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has assured journalists in the state that they will be given the necessary recognition to do their jobs without restrictions. Mr Olanrewaju made this known during a visit to the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, in Ibadan on Thursday.

In his address, Olanrewaju, a former group business editor of Nigerian Tribune newspapers, stated that his appointment as CPS aims to prioritise the welfare of journalists in the state. He encouraged journalists to support the state government’s efforts to achieve its ambitions, while noting that, as a unionist, he will always defend the interests of journalists in the state.

The chairman of the chapel, Adebayo Raji, expressed his optimism about the CPS’s statement, describing the visit as “a sign of good things to come.”
