Troops kill 51 terrorists, 876 surrender in North-East

In a recent military operation against insurgency in the North-East, Nigerian troops have recorded significant success, killing 51 terrorists while 876 others surrendered to the military.

According to the Coordinator of Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche, the operation, which was conducted between June 1 and July 2, 2021, was carried out in various locations across the region.

The military offensive, codenamed “Operation Hadin Kai”, targeted terrorist hideouts and enclaves in the region, leading to the neutralization of 51 terrorists and the capture of several arms and ammunition.

In addition, the operation resulted in 876 terrorists surrendering to the military, including foreign fighters who had infiltrated the region to support the terrorist group.

The Coordinator of Defence Media Operations reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian military to the fight against terrorism in the North-East, urging citizens to provide useful information that could help in the eradication of insurgency in the region.

He also assured Nigerians that the military would continue to work hard to ensure the safety of citizens and protect the territorial integrity of the country.

The recent success recorded by the military in the fight against insurgency in the North-East is a boost to the morale of troops and a sign that Nigeria is making progress in the battle against terrorism in the region.
