Benue’s New Governor, Alia, Dismisses All Ortom’s Appointees Due to Poor Performance

The newly sworn-in Governor of Benue State, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has terminated the appointment of all political appointees under the administration of the immediate past governor, Samuel Ortom. The decision was made in light of the unsatisfactory performance of the appointees, which was reportedly uncovered during Governor Alia’s recent unscheduled visitations to various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) in the state.

The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Tersoo Kula, explained to journalists in Makurdi that the dismissed appointees have been instructed to hand over to the most senior civil servants in their respective offices.

During his visits to the MDAs, Governor Alia discovered a lot of decay and inefficiency in the management of public utilities. This discovery prompted him to express his dissatisfaction with some of the appointees on Tuesday.

It is important to note that Governor Alia’s decision to dismiss the appointees was not taken lightly. It was made after a thorough evaluation of the state of affairs in the MDAs, and it is in line with his commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance in Benue State.
