Nigeria’s Military Records Significant Wins in Multiple Anti-Terrorist Operations

The Nigerian military has reported that it eliminated 58 terrorists and apprehended 161 others in various operations across the country. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Musa Danmadami, revealed that the operations were executed in the North-east, North-central and North-west regions of the country. During the two-week-long anti-terrorist operations, troops rescued 66 kidnapped victims and recovered several arms and ammunition.

Mr Danmadami disclosed that in the North-east, Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai neutralised 26 terrorists, arrested 24 providers of logistics to the terrorists, two spies and captured 56 others. 16 civilians were also rescued in the process. In a bid to eradicate terrorism in the North-central region, troops of Operation Safe Haven and Operation Whirl Stroke neutralised seven bandits, 35 suspects were arrested, and 14 civilians were rescued.

Similarly, Operation Hadarin Daji embarked on various interventions against terrorists and bandits in the North-west region. They neutralised 25 terrorists, apprehended 41 suspects and rescued 36 kidnapped victims. The defence spokesperson also stated that all apprehended suspects and recovered items had been submitted to appropriate authorities for further investigations.

In the fight against insurgency in Nigeria, it is encouraging to see the military making significant gains in anti-terrorism operations across the country. These operations show the Nigerian military’s unrelenting efforts to ensure peace and security in troubled regions. Such progress is achieved by the deployment of appropriate resources, tactics, and intelligence evaluation.

It is important to note that anti-terrorism operations are ongoing and that the military and other relevant authorities have a responsibility to ensure the safety of citizens during such operations. Nigerians are urged to support the military and other relevant agencies by providing information on criminal activities.

It is hoped that the military will continue to build on these successes and rid Nigeria of all forms of criminal activities by creating an atmosphere of peace, safety and security for Nigerians.
