Tinubu’s meeting with opposition Reps-elect shifted to Thursday

The highly anticipated meeting between the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, and opposition lawmakers-elect has been rescheduled to hold on Thursday. Initially slated for Tuesday, June 11th, 2019, the meeting was postponed due to scheduling conflicts.

According to sources, the meeting is expected to address pressing issues such as concerns over leadership positions in the incoming 9th National Assembly and the need for the opposition to work alongside the ruling party for the betterment of the country.

Tinubu, who is a prominent figure in the APC, has been known to hold negotiations with opposition members, particularly during times of political uncertainty. As the country prepares for the inauguration of a new government, it comes as no surprise that Tinubu is reaching out to opposition lawmakers in an effort to build bridges and ensure a smooth transition of power.

The meeting is set to include prominent opposition figures such as Femi Gbajabiamila, who recently emerged as the APC’s choice for Speaker of the House of Representatives, as well as former Speaker Yakubu Dogara, who is believed to be seeking re-election.

Political analysts predict that the meeting could be a step towards bridging the gap between the ruling party and opposition, potentially leading to a more collaborative and productive relationship between the two sides.

With the 9th National Assembly set to commence next week, all eyes are on the outcome of Thursday’s meeting and the potential impact it could have on the country’s political landscape.
