The removal of the fuel subsidy in Nigeria has caused a lot of uproar and difficulties for the citizens. In reaction to this, Reverend Tajan Moltok, the Resident Pastor of Shepherd House Assembly International in Jos, has called on Nigerians to adjust to the current economic realities and make necessary changes to their lifestyles.

During the mid-week evening service at his church, Reverend Moltok emphasized that Nigerians had to prioritize their movements and expenses to reduce their financial hardship. He urged them to live moderately and be flexible in their approach to life.

Reverend Moltok also warned against the societal pressure to live an extravagant lifestyle, saying that Nigerians must not allow the desire for fame and validation to influence their actions. Rather, he urged them to focus on being Christlike in all their dealings.

To cope with the current economic situation, the cleric suggested a few strategies for his congregants. He advised them to reduce their expenses to match their income and not force themselves to maintain a fake lifestyle. For instance, if they could only afford half a chicken, they should eat less rather than pretending they could afford a whole one.

The current economic downturn can also serve as a wakeup call to reflect on their investment decisions and explore other income streams to handle life’s challenges, Reverend Moltok added. He discouraged them from indulging in unlawful activities to make ends meet.

In conclusion, Reverend Moltok urged his congregation to trust in God to overcome the difficult times and stay positive. While the fuel subsidy removal is a hard pill to swallow for Nigerians, adjusting their lifestyles and expenditure can ease the burden.
