Appointments: Former Commissioners, SAs, others intensify lobbying in Taraba

The foyer for appointments in the administration of the Taraba State governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has intensified lobbying for the positions of Commissioners and Special Advisers.

The incumbent governor had earlier mentioned that 80 % of his Commissioners could be younger individuals.

Appointments made to date are these of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Chief of Staff, Chief Press Secretary and Chief Protocol Officer.

Some of the lobbyists instructed Media Talk Africa that the governor ought to take into account expertise.

A former Special Adviser to the speedy previous governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku, mentioned “most of these youths lack the desired experience.”

“We are not against him giving appointments to the youths, but to assign the position of a Commissioner to youths that are not fully equipped with the relevant experience to pilot the affairs of a ministry, I think that won’t be good enough for the development of our dear state,” he mentioned.

Also, a former Commissioner instructed Media Talk Africa that: “I am not all that eager or crazy for an appointment, but if given the chance, I would gladly accept the offer because I have all the needed experience and qualifications to be reappointed as a commissioner.”

Recently sacked chairmen of Boards and Parastatals are equally lobbying to be appointed both as Commissioners, SAs or returned to their former positions.

Most of the politicians are searching for assist from spiritual and conventional leaders.
