The media aide to former Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Terver Akase, has reacted to the allegation by Governor Hyacinth Alia that there was large looting of the federal government home in Makurdi below the earlier administration.

Akase mentioned Ortom is no longer the Governor, and so shouldn’t be talking about problems with governance in the State.

Recall that Alia had on Thursday alleged that he met no official automobile or truck in the federal government home as they have been all carted away.

The assertion is approaching the heels of calls by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state that Alia ought to reverse his determination, which led to the nullification of all last-minute appointments made by Ortom.

However, Akase has clarified that the defunct State Executive Council resolved that authorities officers of Ortom’s administration ought to go together with their autos, insisting it was authorized.

Akase spoke with Media Talk Africa on Thursday. He mentioned the chief council made the decision earlier than Governor Ortom left workplace.

”Well, I don’t work in a authorities home. I don’t know about that. What I do know is that the Benue State Government government council, earlier than Governor Ortom left workplace, made a decision that authorities officers of the Ortom administration ought to go away with their autos. So, if the Governor had a automobile, that’s, the previous Governor and Exco made a decision that he ought to go together with his automobile, that’s a special factor; that’s Exco’s determination. I don’t know about all the opposite issues as a result of I haven’t been to the federal government home since we left. I don’t know the veracity of these issues you’re saying. All I do know is that Exco made a decision that authorities officers who labored below the Ortom administration ought to go together with their autos. Yes, so if the Governor was utilizing a automobile at the moment and Exco mentioned he ought to go together with it, there may be nothing fallacious with that; it’s not legal. It is authorized as a result of that is the choice of the Benue State Government.

”I’m not the spokesperson for PDP. I solely speak for the previous Governor. And the previous Governor’s response is that he’s no longer the Governor. Our individuals say that while you don’t have clues on the shut line, you no longer put your palms there. He is no longer the Governor, so he can’t be talking about problems with governance in Benue State. Governor Ortom prays for the present Governor and desires him effectively,” he mentioned.
