Nigerian Forward, Dessers, Expected to Join Rangers from Cremonese

Reports have emerged claiming that Glasgow Rangers, a Scottish Premiership club, is close to finalizing a deal for Nigerian striker, Cyriel Dessers.

Italian sources indicate that Rangers and Cremonese have almost agreed on the terms of the transfer deal for the 28-year-old, which will involve a base fee of €4.2m and an extra €1m in add-ons.

Dessers joined Cremonese in 2021 from Belgian outfit, KRC Genk, but now wishes to leave the club following their relegation from Serie A.

Despite his team’s struggles, the forward was one of Cremonese’s standout performers last season, scoring six goals in 26 league matches.

If the move goes through, Dessers will be donning the blue jersey of Rangers, who finished second in the 2020/2021 Scottish Premiership. Moreover, the club will also compete in the UEFA Champions League preliminary rounds in the coming campaign.
