Former NNPP National Chairman Warned Against Parading as BoT Chairman

The former National Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Boniface Aniebonam, has been warned by the South West Chairman of the party, Prince Ademola Ayoade, to stop parading himself as the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party.

In a statement released on Saturday, Ayoade clarified that the party is yet to constitute its BoT and advised Aniebonam to desist from presenting himself as the BOT Chairman of the party. Ayoade emphasized that, “whoever is parading himself or herself as the Chairman of NNPP BOT should stop doing that right now.”

Ayoade further revealed that the party has not officially constituted the Board of Trustees and as such, no one can officially parade himself or herself as the Chairman or Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the party. The leadership has only stipulated the position of a Chairman and Secretary for the board, but for it to be official, the board has to be formally constituted, and members will appoint one of them as the chairman.

He added that discipline must be instilled in their party and that the NNPP is not a church or missionary association or organization, so the party does not have a spiritual leader. Therefore, if Aniebonam wants the title of spiritual leader, he should go and establish a church.

In conclusion, Ayoade has called on the party leadership to look into the issue, and ensure that the party is run according to its constitution and rules. This move is to safeguard the party’s interest and keep it from any potential setbacks in the future.
