Former Manchester United player, Rio Ferdinand, has predicted that Manchester City would defeat Italian side Inter Milan 2-0 in the final of the UEFA Champions League. Manchester City and Inter Milan will play in Turkey on Saturday night in a game that could see Man City win their first ever Champions League title.
Rio Ferdinand, while speaking on BT Sport shared that despite being a supporter of Manchester United, football lovers need to respect the amazing work being done by Manchester City in the Champions League this season.
He stated, “Listen, everyone knows I’m Red. I don’t want Man City to do great and remarkable things. But you have got to respect what they are doing. I don’t have that bitterness. If it were not for Pep and the way his team has played, and the players that perform the way they do so consistently, I would hate all this even more.”
He went on to mention that he would love the game to remain tied at 0-0 until halftime to keep it alive but believes that if Manchester City scored the first goal before halftime, the match would be over.
Ferdinand’s prediction means that Pep Guardiola’s team could become UCL champions when both teams meet for the final at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
