NNPCL Refutes Rumours of Mele Kyari’s Sack

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has debunked the rumours circulating on social media that its Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, has been sacked by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a telephone conversation with Media Talk Africa on Saturday, Garba Deen Muhammad, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL stated that the claim was untrue. He further added that the rumours were the concoction of mischievous individuals whose aim is to cause instability.

The suspension of the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, on Friday, prompted speculation that Kyari had been relieved of his role. However, the NNPCL has come out to deny the unverified assertions.

It is noteworthy that after Tinubu’s suspension of Emefiele; the Department of State Security subsequently arrested him. However, there is currently no evidence to suggest that this situation has any bearing on Kyari’s role at NNPCL.

As of now, Mele Kyari remains the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL. The corporation urges the public to disregard the peculating rumours and focus on authentic news from reliable sources.
