Renowned Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has revealed why he didn’t want Manchester City to emerge victorious in the UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan. The game which ended 1-0 in favour of City, gave them their first-ever Champions League trophy in Istanbul, Turkey, on the 29th of May 2021.
In an interview with Paramount+ after his historic performance as the first African artiste to grace the Champions League final, Burna Boy disclosed that he is not a fan of Manchester City as he pitches his tent with their rival team, Manchester United. He noted that despite wanting United to win, he was impressed by City’s performance in the game.
He said, “This was most amazing thing, even though I honestly didn’t want City to win for sentimental reasons, it’s okay. It is amazing performing at the UCL final.”
In the kickoff show powered by Pepsi, Burna Boy wowed fans with a medley of his hit songs such as ‘Last Last’ and ‘It’s Plenty’.
