Drug Lab Discovered by NDLEA in Lagos Building, Owner Flees

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has found a building in the Maryland-Ikeja area of Lagos where Methamphetamine was being produced. The owner of the residence fled before he could be captured by the NDLEA. However, the agents were able to recover precursor chemicals, items used for production, and one kilogram of the finished substance. The agency received intelligence leading to the discovery of this secret lab. In another incident, the agency also foiled an attempt to export a consignment of 3.20 kg of skunk that was coyly concealed in native black soap and bound for the UK. An agent attempting to export Tramadol pills disguised in women’s hair attachments to Liberia was also stopped by the authorities.
Furthermore, three other potential drug dealers, Wasiu, Afolabi Banjo, and Tijani Damilola, have been arrested for being in possession of illicit drugs. In Lagos, officers arrested two of the suspects, Wasiu Saliu, and Afolabi Banjo, and seized 247 kg of skunks in Oyingbo, while Tijani Damilola was apprehended with 12.5 liters of skuchies and 98 kg of cannabis sativa in Isheri. NDLEA also recovered 12.5 kg of the same substance at Akerele in Agege and seized another 12.5 kg from Adebowale Babatunde in Mushin. The NDLEA entreated Nigerians to be watchful and alert authorities about anyone who may be trading in illicit drugs.
