30 Years Later: Festus Keyamo Mocks IBB and Obasanjo Over Possibility of Tinubu Presidency

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has taken to his verified Twitter handle to mock former Nigerian Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB), whom he referred to as an “evil genius” and two-time president Olusegun Obasanjo over the possibility of Bola Tinubu becoming the President of Nigeria.

On June 12th, 2023, which marks the 30th anniversary of the annulled 1993 presidential election, Festus Keyamo shared an image on Twitter showing the late MKO Abiola, the late General Sani Abacha (who became military Head of State after the election was annulled), and Bola Tinubu. In his tweet, Festus Keyamo referred to Tinubu as one of the most faithful political “soldiers” of the late MKO Abiola.

He also announced that a “faithful political soldier” of MKO Abiola has just addressed the nation as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. He further stated that IBB and Obasanjo were alive to witness Tinubu’s rise to power.

In his tweet, Festus Keyamo wrote: “God Almighty, in His wisdom, also deemed it fit to preserve the life of two men to see this day: one is the ‘evil genius’ who annulled the election, and two is Abiola’s kinsman from Ota who supported the annulment and has tried to play ‘God’ in the affairs of our nation.”

He then concluded by saying: “In all of these, I have never seen a better scenario in the annals of our nation which fits the saying that life, indeed, has come full circle!”
