Benue State Governor Promises Payment for Outstanding Salaries and Pensions

The Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has pledged to settle all outstanding salaries and pension arrears owed to civil servants in the state. In his Democracy Day broadcast on Monday, Governor Alia acknowledged the hardship civil servants in the state have faced due to unpaid salaries and pensions.

He further assured the workers that his administration was working tirelessly to ensure that the backlog of salaries and pension arrears are cleared. The Governor also said that workers should expect alerts for their payment from June 25th.

The Governor acknowledged the plight of the workers who are owed nearly one year’s salary by his predecessors, and called for patience and understanding as they work to address these problems.

He urged all Benue people to keep hope alive and assured them that a new Benue is possible with everyone working together.

This promise by the Governor will bring hope for many civil servants who have been owed salaries and pensions for months and sometimes years. The decision to pay the backlog of salaries and pensions will be seen as a relief package for the affected workers.

It is hoped that the promise of the Governor will be followed by immediate actions and efforts towards the payment of all outstanding salaries and pensions arrears to the workers as soon as possible.
