A prominent Biafra agitator and separatist, Ekpa, recently declared that there will no longer be Democracy Day celebrations in the Southeast region of Nigeria. The Nigerian government had declared 12 June as Democracy Day, but Ekpa claimed that there was no such celebration in Igboland.

He went on to say that Ohanaeze, a pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization, does not represent Biafra. According to him, Ohanaeze only represents 1% of the Biafra people who believe in one Nigeria.
Ekpa further stated that the Biafra Republic Government in Exile had abolished Democracy Day in Biafraland. He concluded his Twitter post by writing, “Today, we have defeated them again, as there is no celebration of Nigeria Democracy Day in Biafraland.”
The agitator, who is a Finland-based lawyer and Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, is known for his outspoken activism for the independence of the Biafra region.
