In a bid to strengthen his administration, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, on Monday announced the appointment of Prof. Emmanuel Echiegu as his Chief of Staff, Chief Mathias Adum as Principal Secretary, and 22 others as Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants.
The announcement was made known to the public in a statement signed and released by the Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor. Governor Nwifuru also revealed that the inauguration of the appointees would be held the following day in the Government House Abakaliki centenary city.
Among those appointed as Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) are Chinedu Awo, who was designated as SSA on Power, Anthony Onyibe Nwegede as SSA on Agriculture, Benjamin Ezeoma as SSA on Lands, and Friday Nwuhuo as SSA on Legal Services.
Similarly, Onu Nwonye was appointed SSA on Water Resources, Lilian Nwachukwu Chinwe was designated SSA on Education, Nwozaka Abel Uzodinma was appointed SSA on Rice Mill, while Nwogbaga Fred and Nwogha Paul were designated as SSAs on Transport and LG & Chieftaincy, respectively.
Additionally, Nwoga Paul is now the SSA on Library Development, Nwokoro Okechukwu as SSA on Environment, Maxwell Umahi as SSA on Urban Development, and Veronica Ikele was appointed SSA on Women Mobilization.
Governor Nwifuru also appointed Ali Okechukwu as SSA on House of Assembly Liaison, and Chima Ude Umanta was designated SSA on Solid Mineral Development, while Nwiboko Chukwuma and Peter Nwogbaga were appointed as SSAs on Project Monitoring and Primary Education.
Moreover, Timothy Nwachi was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff, and Okey Oroke as Deputy Principal Secretary to the Governor. Also, Emmanuel Nnaemeka was assigned to be the Personal Assistant to the Deputy Governor, while Friday Nwekpa and Nwali Amechi Friday were designated as Security SA Ishielu and SA Finance respectively.
Overall, the appointments by Governor Nwifuru signify his commitment to bringing in fresh ideas and expertise to drive the development of Ebonyi State.
