Reno Omokri Explains Why He Can’t Criticize Tinubu Amid Bawa’s Suspension

Renowned socio-political activist, Reno Omokri, has expressed his reluctance to launch an attack on President Bola Tinubu following the indefinite suspension of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa.

Omokri clarified his stance by highlighting that within just two weeks of assuming office, Tinubu successfully put an end to the subsidy regime, resolved a nationwide strike, and eradicated multiple exchange rates.

In a tweet, the outspoken critic of Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated, “Fuel Subsidy GONE, EFCC’s Bawa GONE, NLC strike threat GONE, Multiple Exchange Rates GONE, Fuel queue GONE. Slow pace of governance GONE.”

He further explained, “And you want me to attack the man who achieved this in just two weeks? I think I have to clarify my stance and stand. I am an opposition politician. That means I oppose the party in power and offer a better alternative when they do wrong.”

Omokri emphasized his commitment to ensuring that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar receives the justice he seeks at the Presidential Election Petition Court. However, he also made it clear that he does not support secessionist agitation disguised as political activism. He expressed his love for Nigeria and his desire to see the country prosper, without apology.
