The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, has made significant changes to the leadership structure within the Nigerian Police Force. This move comes after the recent promotion of Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) Frank Mba and Bala Ciroma. In a press statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the deployments were announced, showcasing the IGP’s commitment to strategic decision-making and effective departmental management.

According to the statement, DIG Frank Mba has been assigned to head the Department of Research and Planning, while DIG Bala Ciroma will be in charge of the Department of Training and Development. Furthermore, the statement revealed that DIG Hafiz Inuwa has been redeployed to head the Department of Logistics and Supply. Among the AIGs who have been posted or redeployed are Abubakar Lawal (Zone 10 Sokoto), Abdul Umar (Zone 15 Maiduguri), Williams Adebowale (Zone 7 Abuja), Shettima Zanna (AIG Armament FHQ Abuja), Ebong Eyibio Ebong (Zone 17 Akure), and Adepoju Ilori (AIG Maritime Lagos). Each AIG will bring their wealth of experience to their new roles and contribute to the delivery of effective and efficient policing services.

Other AIGs who have been deployed include Okon Effiong (AIG FCID Annex Kaduna), Echeng Echeng (Zone 9 Umuahia), Susan Horsefall (Commandant Staff College Jos), Bankole Sikiru (AIG DFA FHQ Abuja), Oladimeji Olanrewaju (Zone 11 Osogbo), and Odama Ojeka (AIG FEDOPS FHQ Abuja).

The remaining AIGs appointed are Shehu Gwarzo (AIG Forensic), Yekini Ayoku (AIG R&P, FHQ Abuja), Yahaya Abubakar (AIG FCID Alagbon Lagos), Umar Sanda (Zone 1 Kano), and Ede Ayuba (AIG CTU FHQ Abuja).
