Plateau State Police Deploy Mobile Personnel to Troubled Councils

In response to the recent surge in security challenges plaguing local government councils in Plateau State, the State Police Command has taken action by deploying Mobile Police Force personnel to the affected areas.

The Command has charged the deployed officers to be vigilant in carrying out their constitutional responsibilities. However, Commissioner of Police (CP) Bartholomew Onyeka warned against any involvement in illegal activities, cautioning that severe punishment awaits anyone found culpable in accordance with the disciplinary procedure outlined in the Police Act and Regulations.

The CP, speaking during the deployment on Saturday in the state capital, Jos, called on citizens to remain calm and report any suspicious activities in their vicinity. Onyeka emphasized the Police’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of all residents in the State.

He stated, “The Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, Bartholomew Onyeka, in fulfillment of his promise to take all necessary actions to ensure the security of lives and properties across the State, has now deployed Mobile Police Force (MPF) Personnel to troubled Local Government Areas in the State.”

The decision to deploy the Mobile Police Force came as a response to the ongoing killings in the State, with the CP aiming to bring the perpetrators to justice and restore peace on the Plateau.

Onyeka further remarked, “The Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, ordered all personnel deployed to remain vigilant while carrying out their constitutional duties and warned that any officer engaging in illegal acts will face severe punishment in accordance with the disciplinary procedure outlined in the Police Act and Regulations.”

The CP stressed the importance of collective security, reminding residents that it is everyone’s responsibility to remain vigilant.
