Transfer: Pochettino tells Chelsea to block defender from leaving Stamford Bridge

New Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly told the club not to entertain any offers for 20-year-old defender Levi Colwill.

Colwill is regarded as one of the finest English centre-backs in his age bracket.

The England youngster spent the last season on loan at Brighton, making 24 appearances across competitions for the Seagulls.

Brighton are reportedly intent on keeping Colwill beyond this summer, but Pochettino doesn’t want the player to leave Chelsea.

According to the Guardian, Pochettino intends to keep him at Stamford Bridge at all costs.

Just last month, Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi said at a press conference that he hoped Colwill would play for Brighton next season.

“I hope Levi can play with us next year, but it is the decision of Chelsea. We have to be ready to change some players, but he is a top player for us,” De Zerbi said.
