In a move to revamp their midfield, Arsenal is contemplating the departure of midfielder Thomas Partey this summer.
Partey, a crucial member of Mikel Arteta’s squad last season, witnessed the team finish second behind Manchester City.
The Ghanaian featured in 33 matches, contributing significantly to the Gunners’ efforts in the title race, which ultimately faltered.
Nevertheless, Arsenal’s strategy to strengthen their midfield ahead of the upcoming season might result in Partey seeking opportunities elsewhere. Notably, renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano suggests that there is a “concrete” possibility of Partey leaving the club.
The current contract between Partey and Arsenal is set to expire in 2025. The valuation of the player, if a transfer were to materialize, remains uncertain. However, it is worth noting that Arsenal invested a substantial £45 million to secure his services from Atletico Madrid in 2020.
Meanwhile, Granit Xhaka’s transfer to Bayer Leverkusen appears imminent. Arsenal is finalizing a deal with West Ham United for the acquisition of Declan Rice before granting Xhaka permission to depart.
