Abiodun Vows Open-Door Policy as Ogun Lawmakers are Hosted

The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has assured the newly inaugurated members of the 10th Ogun State House of Assembly that his administration will operate an open-door policy for all, regardless of party affiliations, religion, or tribe. The governor made this promise during a meeting with the lawmakers, who paid a courtesy visit to the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta.

During the meeting, Abiodun emphasized the need for all elected officials to work together to serve the people, stressing that the time for politics is over. He commended the lawmakers for conducting themselves in an orderly manner during their proclamation and inauguration, noting that it reflects the State’s ability to resolve differences amicably.

“Let me deeply appreciate your sense of responsibility, your leadership qualities that have been exhibited by each and everyone of you at this time. This is how we like to be defined as a State. A State that upholds the tenets of democracy, a State that knows how to resolve its problems, a State that resolves its differences peacefully,” said Governor Abiodun.

Abiodun also expressed his gratitude to those who contested elections and lost, praising them for their magnanimity and ensuring a peaceful and rancor-free inauguration process. He acknowledged the cooperation and collaboration of the previous Assembly and stressed the importance of all arms of government working together for the successful implementation of the administration’s vision.

The governor urged the 10th Assembly to build on the foundation laid by their predecessors by legislating on issues that positively impact the people. He assured the lawmakers that he would be a governor for all, maintaining an open-door policy regardless of party affiliations, religion, or tribe.

“I promise to continue to be fair, just, and equitable. I promise to support you in the discharge of your legislative duties, which are to pass laws and provide oversight for different sectors of the State,” Abiodun pledged.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, thanked Governor Abiodun for his continuous support and expressed the lawmakers’ commitment to working in harmony with the executive for peace and development in the State. The courtesy visit was attended by all 26 members of the Assembly, including the new Deputy Speaker, Hon. Bolanle Ayayi, who is the first woman to occupy that position.

Prince Dapo Abiodun reiterated his administration’s vision of providing good governance and creating an enabling environment for public-private partnerships, which are fundamental to the economic growth of the State and the individual prosperity of its people. With an open-door policy in place, the governor hopes to foster collaboration and cooperation among all stakeholders for the betterment of Ogun State.
