Our members not involved in missing placenta in Ondo hospital – NANNM

The Ondo State chapter of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, NANNM, has disclosed that none of its members were involved in the case of a missing placenta at a hospital in the state.

While dissociating its members from the incident, the association urged that a thorough investigation be carried out.

Recall that a family cried out on Tuesday over the missing placenta of their newborn baby at Emure-Ile Comprehensive Health Centre in Owo Local Government Area of the state.

According to the Chairman of NANNM, Comrade Kehinde Olomiye, in a press statement, the two health personnel and a security man apprehended in connection with the stolen placenta were not qualified nurses and not members of the association.

Olomiye maintained that no nurse was arrested by the police over the incident that was insinuated.

Meanwhile, Olufumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, confirmed that three suspects had been apprehended.

She also revealed that an investigation had been launched to determine the details surrounding the incident.
