In a surprising move, Akwa United has decided to part ways with their former coach, Deji Ayeni, after his contract expired. This decision comes after a disappointing season for the Uyo club, where they failed to secure a spot in the Nigeria Premier League Super Six playoffs and made an early exit from the Federation Cup.

Looking to change their fortunes, Akwa United’s management has turned their attention to Fatai Osho, a former assistant coach for Rivers United. Osho, known for his tactical acumen and promising coaching abilities, has previously managed Remo Stars and Enyimba.

The club is optimistic about the potential of Osho and hopes that his appointment will bring about the much-needed turnaround. Negotiations are currently underway, and it is expected that Osho will sign a contract with Akwa United in the coming days.
