Sam Amadi: Court Must Sack Tinubu if Election Was Unfair

The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Sam Amadi, has called for the removal of President Bola Tinubu if it is determined that he did not win the last presidential election fairly. Amadi made this statement while addressing the argument that Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) should drop their cases against Tinubu at the presidential election tribunal.

In a tweet, the public affairs analyst dismissed the idea that aggrieved parties should drop their cases for the sake of Tinubu’s administration. He referred to this suggestion as foolish and criticised the tendency to seek out plastic heroes.

Amadi stressed the importance of establishing the fairness and freeness of the 2023 polls over any perceived development. He argued that if Tinubu did not win the election fairly, he should be removed from office, considering it a matter of national development.

The public affairs analyst also made reference to past failures in governance. He alluded to the era when African intellectuals advocated for a one-party state in pursuit of national development, only for the nation to be denied both democracy and progress.

Amadi’s comments prompt us to reflect on the delicate balance between political ambition and the integrity of our electoral system. As Nigeria looks towards the future, it becomes crucial to uphold the principles of justice and fairness in order to ensure the stability and progress of our nation.
