The Bauchi State Police Command has vowed to ensure a seamless Eid-el-Kabir celebration for the Muslim faithful in the state.
To achieve this, the command has taken necessary measures by deploying a significant number of conventional police personnel and tactical teams to strategic locations, especially areas prone to attacks.
In an official statement released by the acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, ASP Aminu Gimba Ahmed, it was revealed that an operation order had been issued. This directive entails that Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) are to oversee visible policing throughout the festive season.
The Ag PPRO emphasized, “In preparation for a hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Bauchi State Police Command has re-strategized its security approach by deploying adequate human and material resources to fortify security across the state before, during, and after the festive period.”
The command acknowledges the possibility of miscreants and disgruntled elements taking advantage of the occasion to carry out nefarious activities. Consequently, a massive deployment of conventional police personnel, as well as tactical teams, including the Rapid Response Team (RRS), Anti-kidnapping Unit (AKU), Operation Restore Peace (ORS), Police Mobile Force (PMF), and the Explosives Ordinance Disposal and Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear (EOD&CBRN) operatives, have been dispatched to vulnerable areas.
Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and DPOs have been instructed to ensure constant supervision of officers and men deployed during the festive season, in adherence to standard operating procedures.
