In response to public outcry, the Kano State government has announced its plans to replicate the iconic design of the demolished government house roundabout. The structure will be relocated to the more secure Naibawa Flyover, situated on the outskirts of the city.
During a meeting at the new site for the structure, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed the government’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development. He also met with Kaltume Hana, the talented designer of the Golden Jubilee edifice.
In a statement released by the acting press secretary to the Governor, Hisham Habib, it was revealed that the decision to transfer the monument to the Naibawa Flyover was made after a meticulous survey. The government believes that this new location is not only suitable for the project but will also alleviate any potential challenges.
The government has assured its citizens that this undertaking is only the beginning of many more worthwhile projects to come.
Kaltume Gana, the designer of the structure, expressed her gratitude to the governor for his commitment to preserving her unique work, which had earned accolades as a masterpiece.
The structure, fashioned like a traditional gate with a trumpet, was dismantled due to concerns over its unsuitability for its previous location and its potential impact on the security of the government house.
