Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 housemate, Doyinsola Anuoluwapo David, has come forward to clarify that her comment regarding her colleague, Adekunle, owing his mum an apology was not intended as an insult towards his mother.
During the recent ‘Level Up’ reunion show episode 6, which aired on Monday night, Doyin made a statement that Adekunle “owes his mum an apology because he threw her home training to the gutters.”
Unfortunately, her statement sparked backlash on social media, with many criticizing her for involving Adekunle’s mother in their disagreement.
However, via her Twitter handle on Tuesday morning, Doyin clarified that her comment during the show was not meant as an insult towards Adekunle’s mother, as many had assumed.
She explained that her comment indicated that Adekunle’s mother had raised him well, but he disregarded the values he was taught, thus owing her an apology.
The reality star urged those who misunderstood her statement to brush up on their English language skills.
Doyin wrote, “I never insulted his mum. My words were ‘he owes his mum an apology for throwing her home training in the gutter’. In other words, she trained him but he neglected the training, so he owes her an apology.
“If English is your problem, this is a good chance to go back to school.”
