Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has called on Nigerians to remain patient and have faith in the government as they roll out palliatives to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal. In his Sallah message delivered by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor acknowledged the economic challenges that have arisen as a result of the subsidy removal.

As Muslim faithful celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Governor Bago urged them to uphold the values of love, obedience, and sacrifice, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (A.S). He emphasized the need to deepen faith and submission to the will of Allah during this period.

The Governor implored the Muslim community to remain steadfast in their religious practices and extend kindness and tolerance to promote peaceful coexistence. He stated, “I congratulate all Muslims on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir; I call on you to reflect on the great lessons of the festival of sacrifice, which are the hallmarks of Islam. Show piety, make personal sacrifices for the common good, and the collective interests of the people.”

Governor Bago also sent well wishes to Nigerians embarking on pilgrimage, urging them to pray for peace, unity, and development in the state. He emphasized the importance of their role as ambassadors of Niger State while in the holy land.

Furthermore, the Governor expressed his commitment to improving security and peace in the state and Nigeria as a whole. He reassured citizens of his determination to build a new Niger State characterized by peace, unity, and consistent growth and development, in line with his administration’s policy thrust.

Highlighting his administration’s key areas of focus, the Governor urged residents to support initiatives centered around security, education, science and technology, agriculture, healthcare, commerce, tourism, infrastructure, women and youth development, among others.

In his closing remarks, Governor Bago implored Allah to accept the prayers and sacrifices of the Muslim ummah and shower boundless blessings upon their lawful endeavours.
