The South-East Governors of Nigeria join in the celebration of Eid Al-Adha and extend their heartfelt greetings to Nigerians. Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, representing the Anambra State Government, expresses his warm wishes and congratulations to the people of Anambra and the Muslim community across the state and the country at large.
In an official statement released by Christian Aburime, the Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, it is evident that this annual Sallah celebration holds significant importance for Muslims worldwide. It serves as a commemoration of remarkable acts of faith and devotion to God, symbolizing sacrifice, generosity, and goodwill among humanity.
As a government that upholds the well-being and prosperity of its citizens, Governor Soludo recognizes the significance of religious freedom and a secure environment for all. He assures maximum security of life and property during the holidays and beyond, as stringent security measures have been put in place to ensure peaceful celebrations.
May this festival bring laughter to our homes, peace to our hearts, and abundant blessings to our lives.
Meanwhile, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State uses the occasion of Eid Al-Adha to call on Nigerian leaders to prioritize the nation’s progress over self-interest. In his message, he emphasizes the importance of preaching peace, unity, and displaying love towards one another, irrespective of religious and political affiliations.
Governor Nwifuru inspires Nigerians to follow the example of Prophet Ibrahim by extending acts of kindness to their neighbors. He urges individuals to remember the downtrodden who are in need and provide them with a sense of belonging. The governor also encourages reflection on Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice and obedience to Almighty Allah.
Expressing his gratitude towards Muslims in the state for their steadfastness, Governor Nwifuru pledges to rededicate himself to providing selfless service to residents, regardless of religious affiliation. He also calls on Muslims to continue praying for and supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the shared vision of moving the nation forward.
Eid Mubarak!
